Terms of Use

Effective: October 8, 2026

The short version: HuntAO is an unofficial planning tool built by a hunter, for hunters. It is not run by the Army, the DoD, or iSportsman. Official installation rules and iSportsman area status are the controlling authority — if this app ever disagrees with them, follow the official source. You are responsible for knowing where you are, whether your area is legally open, and for hunting safely and lawfully.

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using HuntAO (the “Service”), including by clicking “I Agree” on the entry acknowledgment, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What HuntAO is

HuntAO is a privately operated mapping and planning aid for hunting on U.S. military installations. It displays training-area boundaries, area open/closed status drawn from iSportsman feeds, basemaps and terrain from third-party providers, weather information, and tools such as waypoints, offline map downloads, and scouting aids. It is a planning aid only — not an authoritative source of legal access, boundaries, or hunting regulations.

3. No affiliation; official sources control

HuntAO is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, iSportsman, ESRI, OpenStreetMap, USGS, or OpenTopoMap. Data and services are used under those providers’ terms and attribution rules.

Official installation rules and the official iSportsman status for each installation are the controlling authority for where you may hunt, when areas open and close, sign-in/sign-out requirements, and weapons or methods allowed. If HuntAO conflicts with an official source in any way, the official source governs. Area status can change at any time, including same-day closures for training or safety.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Assumption of risk and release

Hunting and outdoor navigation are inherently dangerous activities. By using HuntAO you accept full responsibility for your own location, route choices, sign-in actions, and legal compliance, and you release HuntAO and its operators from liability for boundary or status errors, navigation mistakes, equipment issues, injuries, or resulting citations, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. Accounts

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute map or status data in violation of provider terms; attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; submit false reports; or use the Service to facilitate trespass or poaching.

8. Data accuracy

Basemaps, terrain, weather, area status, and AI-generated scouting suggestions are provided as-is and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Imagery may be years old. AI scouting picks are algorithmic guesses, not professional guidance. Always verify critical information through official sources.

9. Intellectual property

The HuntAO name, logo, and app design are the property of the Service’s operator. Map tiles, imagery, and geodata belong to their respective providers (ESRI, OpenStreetMap contributors, USGS, OpenTopoMap, and others) and are subject to their licenses and attribution requirements, which are shown in the app.

10. Changes to the Service and these terms

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We may update these terms; material changes will be noted by updating the effective date above, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HuntAO and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. (Operator note: confirm this matches where you operate.)

13. Contact
